The Jupiter Jeans
The Jupiter Jeans are mid-rise in cut, designed to fit snugly on the high hip while relaxing slightly through the hips and thighs.
The pattern comes in two variations, the first of which gives a subtle nod to the barrel shape with its twisted seams, ergonomic ease built into the knees, and a tapered hem. The second style offers a straight leg for a more classic silhouette. Both jeans have traditional five-pocket styling, zip and concealed button fly options and a comfortable curved waistband.
Please note: This pattern, although designed by me, does not fit me "perfectly" without mods. Although the original prototype was drafted for my body, the pattern evolved dramatrically over many months of research and testing with regards to pattern ease and accomodating a more "standard" body type. Of course there is no such thing as as a standard body and that is why, when sewing jeans, it is super important to study the size charts and instructions diligently, and to sew a toile - albeit just a quick one to determine what mods you may need to make before cutting into your fabric.
